Show up for Chinatown with CCED

Chinatown Community for Equitable Development is an all volunteer, multi-ethnic, intergenerational organization based in Los Angeles Chinatown that builds grassroots power through organizing, education, and mutual help. We work in solidarity, not charity. That also means we’re not a service organization but we empower and organize with one another.

Join us in fighting the gentrification and displacement of LA Chinatown! There are so many ways to join the movement! From showing up at direct actions for the community, organizing with residential & commercial tenants, and unhoused neighbors, strategizing against developers and other gentrifying forces, making calls to our shitty elected representatives, there's work to be done for our collective liberation.

Our collective liberation is guided by our desire to dismantle different systems of oppression. Safety for our community means that we are anti-racist and anti-capitalist which necessitates that we are anti-police and anti-Business Improvement District. We want justice for our communities.

We build grassroots power by developing relationships with community members in Chinatown. In doing so, we support residents to fight off evictions, cash for keys, landlord harassment and more. Take action against predatory developers, vulture landlords, and economic forces that seek to erase Chinatown now!

If you are a gentrifier, CCED is not here to absolve your complicity. You need to show commitment that you are actively dismantling the system that displace the community and challenge the very people including yourself that is harming the community.
